Dr Mario van der Stelt, University of Leiden, has been awarded the prestigious Dutch Prix Galien Research Award (Galenus Researchprijs Nederland).
Regarded as the Nobel Prize equivalent for biopharmaceutical research, Prix Galien Awards recognise scientific innovation that improves the human condition and addresses unmet need in 15 different countries. The Research prize is awarded to a researcher or a research team who has had a significant impact on fundamental or clinical pharmacotherapeutic research.
In their motivation, the jury highlighted Van der Stelt’s role in the European Lead Factory: 'Mario is a contributing partner of the European Lead Factory and its compound library, that of course leads to international collaborations.'
