New hope for cancer drugs thanks to European Lead Factory partnership

Through screening of the high-quality ELF compound library, two drug companies, the Israeli SME Metabomed and the German pharmaceutical company Merck KGaA, have discovered compounds that show promise in inhibiting target pathways involved in the development of tumours. Both compounds have now advanced to phase 1 human clinical trials.

The Innovative Health Initiative outlines the details of this exciting development in the latest issue of its Newsletter.

Commenting on the news, Dr Jon de Vlieger, Coordinator of the European Lead Factory said: "These are two excellent case studies of the impact of our European Lead Factory partnership.
